El casco viejo de la ciudad, declarado Conjunto Hist\u00f3rico-Art\u00edstico en 1985, tiene como centro la plaza de la catedral, monumento nacional construido en el siglo XIII y hacia donde confluyen todas las calles de la villa. Tiene feria tradicional m\u00e1s antigua de Galicia, As San Lucas, con m\u00e1s de 800 a\u00f1os de historia. La catedral actual es un edificio de tres naves, con b\u00f3veda de crucer\u00eda sobre arcos apuntados. La fachada del templo se compone de tres grandes ojivas que se corresponden con las tres naves. La fachada occidental posee un roset\u00f3n del siglo XIV de 5 metros de di\u00e1metro con vidrieras policromadas. Pero un hechicero estaba celoso de este amor, y sepult\u00f3 el reino de Cintolo en el interior de la tierra.
